The essentials
Sign-in cookies keep your workspace secure. Browser storage remembers a few choices. Website analytics uses no analytics cookies.
A small amount of storage. A clear purpose.
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as local storage, can remember information between visits. This policy explains how Rankplain uses both.
We use cookies to keep you signed in and protect account connections. Some workspace and demo preferences are stored in your browser. We do not currently use advertising cookies or retargeting pixels.
Sign-in & security cookies
These cookies support features you request, such as signing in or connecting a store. The cookies you receive depend on which sign-in and connection features you use.
| Cookie | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| Account and session cookies | Maintain your signed-in session. The active sign-in method determines which cookie is used. | Up to 7 days |
| Sign-in and integration verification cookies | Verify that a sign-in or provider connection was started in your browser. | Up to 10 minutes |
| Administrator session cookie | Authenticate authorised administrators. | Up to 4 hours |
Some internal cookie names retain our earlier product name. They still belong to Rankplain. Sign-in cookies are set with security protections and are not intended for advertising.
Workspace & demo storage
The interactive demo stores its sample workspace in local storage under the demo workspace key. Some opportunity views also remember your workspace choices in browser storage.
Local storage has no automatic expiry in our code. It remains until you clear the site’s stored data, the app replaces it, or your browser removes it. Clearing it can reset demo edits and saved interface preferences. Account data stored on our servers is separate.
Cookie-free website analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand visits, popular pages, and broad traffic patterns. Vercel describes this service as using a temporary request-derived identifier rather than analytics cookies. It can process information such as page paths, referrers, browser type, device type, and approximate country.
Our page-view integration removes query strings and fragments from the page URL before sending it. We do not send account emails or store records as custom analytics events through this integration.
Connected services
If you choose to sign in with Google or connect a third-party service, you may visit that provider’s website. It may use its own cookies under its own policy. Our cookie policy describes storage on Rankplain, not every cookie used on a provider’s website.
Your browser, your choices
You can review, block, or delete cookies and site data in your browser’s privacy settings. Look for “Cookies”, “Site data”, or “Website data”, then select rankplain.com.
- Deleting sign-in cookies signs you out.
- Blocking security cookies may prevent sign-in and store connections.
- Clearing local storage resets locally saved demo data and preferences.
Browser content blockers may also prevent analytics requests. If we introduce optional cookie-based tracking, we will update this policy and provide the choices required for that use.
Updates & questions
This page reflects the current implementation. We will update the policy when our use of cookies or browser storage changes.
