Getting started
What is Rankplain?
Rankplain helps ecommerce teams track product and collection keywords, compare competing stores, and review the pages appearing in search results.
Can I explore Rankplain before creating an account?
Yes. Explore the demo without signing up. Demo stores use illustrative rankings and metrics, so they do not represent current performance.
How do I set up my workspace?
Create an account, add your store’s domain, select a country and device, and enter the keywords you want to track. Your workspace shows whether live ranking checks are ready.
What does the free trial include?
The current trial lasts seven days from signup and includes one store and up to 25 keywords. No card is required. Ranking checks are available on demand after setup.
What happens when my trial ends?
Your workspace becomes read-only. You can still view and export saved results. Paid subscriptions are not enabled yet; see pricing for the current availability.
Rank tracking
Are the rankings live Google results?
Checks in a connected workspace retrieve Google organic results for your selected market and device. The public demo and marketing previews use sample data and are labelled accordingly.
How often are rankings checked?
Current trial checks run when you request them. Opening or refreshing the dashboard displays saved results. The daily, weekly and monthly schedules described in planned packages are not enabled yet.
Why is a keyword pending or not found?
Pending means a check has not completed. A keyword that is not found has no matching result for your domain in the returned results. This does not mean your website is absent from every Google result.
Why can results differ from a search on my own device?
Your workspace uses its selected country and device. Your own searches can differ because of location, device, personalisation and the time of the search.
How are landing pages added?
Ranking pages are collected from saved search results. When Google returns a page from your domain, it can appear in the landing pages view. Rankplain does not create or publish pages on your store.
Research and recommendations
What can I compare in Competitor insights?
Add competing domains and compare their positions for the same tracked searches, market and device using saved Google results. Comparisons cover the results returned by your ranking checks.
What is Keyword Explorer for?
Keyword Explorer helps you investigate search ideas before adding keywords to tracking. Availability of live research metrics depends on the research provider being configured; sample results are labelled.
Do opportunity suggestions change my store automatically?
No. Suggestions help you review evidence and plan an update. You make changes in your store or content system, then request another check to review performance.
What does saving an opportunity plan do?
It keeps a checklist for you to return to. It does not publish content, change product listings or schedule work. Where plans are stored in your browser, use the same browser to return to them.
Store connections and data
How do I connect Shopify or Google Merchant Center?
Open Integrations in your workspace and choose the relevant connection. A connection requires permission to access the store or account. If the connection button is unavailable, the application’s authorisation setup is not complete.
What does a catalog import do?
It brings supported product information into your workspace so you can review it alongside your search data. It does not publish edits back to Shopify or Merchant Center. The integration shows the latest import and any limits reached.
Is Google Search Console available?
Search Console availability depends on the integration setup in your workspace. Use Integrations to check supported connections. Rankplain does not claim a connection is ready until its authorisation and import flow are enabled.
Can I export my data?
Yes. Use the available CSV export actions to download saved keyword and ranking information. The file reflects the data saved in your workspace, rather than a new ranking check.
Plans and account access
Can I purchase a paid plan today?
Paid subscriptions and scheduled checks are coming soon. Current access is through the free trial or public demo. The pricing page explains the planned packages and limits.
What does BETA mean?
A BETA label marks a feature that is still being developed or validated. Its scope may change, and some workflows may require setup before they can be used.
How do I recover access to my account?
Use the recovery option on the sign-in screen. Follow the available recovery flow for your account. Never share passwords, access tokens or recovery codes with other users.
